Gregory Lewis


Gregory Lewis is a native of Fayetteville, NC and currently resides in the Triangle. He is a proud alumnus and former football player of NC Central University (NCCU) wherein he earned a degree in Public Administration.
Mr. Lewis has served in many facets of the workforce within clinical, community-based, and educational settings over past 30+ years. Within his current role as Vocational Job Coordinator with Durham Public Schools, he facilitates the preparation of students with disabilities for successful transition between school programs and work setting by development of a variety of work training experiences. Additionally, he has extensive experience in the development and implementation of high risk intervention strategies to support the holistic needs of families, parents, and students in roles including Family Specialist, Case Manager, and Community Support Specialist.
In collaboration with his alma mater NCCU, Mr. Lewis currently serves an Advisory Committee Member with the Community Garden and volunteer liaison with the Campus Pantry. In both capacities, he is committed to uplifting the institution’s mission in enhancing community engagement and building partnerships.
Also, he serves as an active member of the NCCU Alumni Association - Durham Chapter wherein he is focused on alumni and student engagement, fundraising, and program development with the NCCU Community Garden and Campus Pantry, among a host of other initiatives.
In his leisure time, Mr. Lewis engages in cultural arts, health and wellness activities, and traveling. He is married to Dr. Laura Bethea-Lewis.
